There are many mistakes that happen in construction industry as a result of miscalculations.

One hundred and seventy seven million dollars has been lost in Australia as a result of calculation mistakes, according to On-Site Civil Solutions company director, and app developer, Shane Dodd, who has been in the civil construction industry for more than 25 years.

There is a definite need within the Construction industry to decrease costs, improve productivity and reduce the number of mistakes on site.

As most of the workforce in the construction industry is a mobile workforce, there is a need of mobile technology that can help workers on site.

Mobile technology can play a really important role in reducing the calculation errors made on site, and improving the overall work efficiency and productivity.

The recently released and award winning app CivilWorks(TM) is one such app. CivilWorks(TM) won a top honour award at the 2014 Australian Mobile & App Design Awards and can be used for making construction calculations. This app is designed and developed by Shane Dodd in collaboration with RU Advertising.

The app could prove beneficial to construction workers provided they start using smart phones or iPads on site.

So far the app has received pretty good reviews from all the users and many have suggested they will continue using it.
